Mech WIP - reinforced legs

I kept looking at the mech and it just looked wrong somehow, so I decided to reinforce the legs. I like how it turned out, armor plating, and since it's a construction mech that makes sense, to protect the legs from debris and such.

Mech Diorama WIP update

Got all the legs done and attached, still not sure if I'm going to reinforce them or not. Also added some smaller details, thinking of adding a searchlight to the top as well. Gonna start working on the robotic arm(s) now.

Diorama Size Comparison

Here's a little something to show the size of the lunar landing diorama, was thinking of using coins or a ruler, but decided a deck of cards is quite universal.

Mech Diorama WIP update

I added some details to the hull, and started working on the legs. I thought round pads would go well with the hull, and wanted the legs to be somewhat heavier than the smaller mechs', not sure if I'll add some more structure to the leg design you see here, or if I'll keep it like that. Might add some tubing and wiring to it.

Mech Diorama WIP

After my small spider mech turned out so well, I started thinking about making a larger diorama, with several mechs. I've started on a larger mech, it's going to be similar in design to the smaller spider mech, but in this diorama it'll be the bad guy, a construction mech gone berserk. I'm planning on making two of the smaller mechs and having those as police units confronting the larger one.

Here's what the bigger mech looks like so far, it's about 1.5 times the size of the smaller mech.

Moon landing diorama

Worked on this for a good while, had fun building it and am quite happy with it. some minor details I would've done differently if I was to start over, but overall I'm pleased.

Spider Mech

Some late night model building resulted in this little critter, inspired mostly by the mech walkers from gnomeregan in world of warcraft, but with patlabor and ghost in the shell (the series) fresh in mind.
